Discovering God Through His Names EL- OLAM ( THE EVERLASTING GOD)

Let me take us to the past a little bit, back in the Bible days a person's name usually says something about that person's character or Destiny. Let's take for example God changed Father Abram's name to Abraham ( Father of Nations), he also changed the name of Jacob to Israel to enable him to fulfill his Destiny and so many other names like that. This is why its important for us to study and understand the different names of God as each name reveals something about his character and also show us many different ways in which He is there to help us in our times of need.

El is related to the word Elohim and is used in conjunction with other other descriptive words to specifically reference a particular characteristic of God.

Olam means forever, always, continuous existence, everlasting, evermore, without beginning or end.

El Olam - The Everlasting God means He exits beyond time and space. We can take comfort in the fact that God always was and always will be God and that he will always be there as the ever loving father, savior, healer etc. Nothing we can ever face will change that because God is unchangeable.

This name of God teaches us that God has no beginning, no end and stands outside of and beyond time. God's nature and purpose are timeless, for God created time and is not limited by time in anyway. Before there was a universe and before there was time, God existed (Psalm 90:2).

According to Heb 13:8 Jesus has eternal attributes just like the father; He is the same yesterday, today and Forever and whoever believes in Him will also have everlasting life (John 3:16).

God has eternity in view for us,all you have to do is accept Jesus as your Lord and savior and you will be guaranteed a glorious life here on earth and also eternal life with the father in eternity.
